Sound Checks

Sound checks will take place on each of the event days prior to opening and on the day before the first event day. No sound checks will take place earlier than 10:00 am.

Sound checks will not be at maximum event levels and although they may last a maximum of 90 minutes within a pre agreed period, tests will be carried out in short intervals.

Outside of our main site, park users will still have access to the rest of the Park, including the sports centre, museum and car park between 7 August and 28 August; however, on show days a one-way system will be implemented in the car park for safety reasons. We will be providing stewards and installing barriers in and near the car park to direct both event-related and regular traffic. We will be using the car park during this time for accessibility ticket holders parking, and taxi and Uber pick up and drop off.

Please see our site perimeter and main production route outlined on the map below:

Gunnersbury Park Residents Map

There will be crossing points on the trackway to facilitate passage for regular park users. These will be managed by stewards who will be instructed accordingly.

We work closely with local councils, emergency services, key stakeholders and our contractors with the aim to cause as little disruption as possible to residents and provide safe access to and exit from the site. Traffic routes will be managed by Offsite Traffic Co-ordinators and marshalled by an experienced traffic management company accordingly.

Event attendees are being encouraged to travel by public transport, and we have publicised that there is no parking available at the event or in the local area. The planned Uber/taxi pickup and drop-off will be located within the Gunnersbury Park Car Park with the aim of minimising traffic in the local area.

We are implementing robust crowd management and dispersal plans to help move customers away from the local area towards public transport hubs as safely, and efficiently as possible. It is expected most attendees will arrive and depart from Acton Town Station.

Whilst ticket holders leave the site, the higher volume of people crossing the A406 to get to Acton Town station will likely result in longer waiting times for traffic at these lights. Details regarding our traffic management plans will be agreed upon with the local authority and released in due course.

Road Closure and Bus Diversion

As part of our traffic management plan for these events, vehicular access to Popes Lanes from the A406 will be restricted between 20:30 hours and 00:00 hours on each event day.

All left-turning traffic from the A406 onto Pope’s Lane will be diverted up to the junction of Gunnersbury Avenue and Baronsmede, then down Gunnersbury Drive to rejoin Pope’s Lane on the other side of the closure. Any other traffic shall continue along the A406 as usual.

The diversion will allow us to manage and maintain an orderly and safe traffic management system within the local area as well keeping our customers safe as they leave the events. Furthermore, the application has also been approved to reduce the impact to local businesses and residents alike.

The E3 bus will be diverted on each event day during the Popes Lane closure times. More information on the diversion will be provided on this website in due course and advertised by TfL.

We anticipate that there will be minimal impact on public transport on event days due to phased arrivals, although it is anticipated that the stations will be slightly busier than normal. The train and tube stations closest to the event will be much busier than normal from approximately 20:30 – 00:00 on the August event dates.

Please consider you may need to allow more time for your journey when travelling at these times.

The following stations are expected to be busier than normal:

  1. Acton Town

  2. Kew Bridge

  3. Ealing Broadway

  4. South Ealing

We will be working with an external competent acoustic consultant, who will draft and oversee our noise management plan (NMP) and will be on and offsite to monitor sound levels on event days.

There will be agreed volume levels monitored by our acoustic consultants and approved by the local authority. All concerts have a 22:30 music curfew.

If you have any noise-related issues or queries at any point during a show or the build period, you can get in touch via the community hotline or dedicated resident email address.

Strobe lighting – pyrotechnics, lasers, smoke machines, strobe lighting/special effects may take place during some performances.

There will be stewarding directly outside the event and in the surrounding areas, especially during the egress phase. There will be response teams available to respond to any calls made to the community hotline.

Thank you for visiting our Residents and Community page. We appreciate you taking the time to visiting and would be grateful for you feedback.

We have set up a dedicated email address you can contact us on gunnersbury.locals@festivalrepublic.com. This inbox is monitored and we aim to respond to all queries within 24 hours and daily show days.

During the show or at any point in the build-up, you can report noise complaints to the Community Hotline or email address.

We would urge everyone to report their complaint to this number in the first instance as all calls are logged and recorded and it allows our expert noise engineers to respond quickly.

Our resident coordinator will be available during all live events on:

0203 781 0001

The above is the same number as last year.

We cannot respond to an issue if we don't know about it – we ask that you please contact our hotline for any issues related to anti social behaviour, sound, litter, traffic etc.

Alternatively, please email: gunnersbury.locals@festivalrepublic.com

We will do our best to respond to emails within 24 hours in the lead up to the event and then daily on event days.

It is much quicker to phone during event days than it is to email. Phone line operational as below:

  • Build & Break: (07- 28 August): 09:00 – 17:00

  • Live show days (14-16 & 21-23 August): between 08:00 – 00:00

If you have any queries or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Thank you,

The Festival Republic Gunnersbury Park Events Team

Additional Information

We want to be good neighbours and will arrange for additional cleaning in the local area, both within the park and off-site, with additional litter pickers covering a wide range of roads and streets. We will agree on locations for additional toilets to be deployed close to transport hubs.
