Festival Republic adds Hove Festival to its portfolio
Norway’s Hove Festival is the first festival outside of Britain to join us, Festival Republic, the organisers behind some of the major festivals in the UK, including Reading/Leeds Festival, Latitude and Glastonbury.

Situated on an island outside the southern town of Arendal, the Hove Festival has in the two years since its formation grown to become the largest music festival in the country. It has also managed to raise tremendous acclaim from audience and artists alike.

Festival Republic’s Melvin Benn says they are very pleased to take part in further developing the Hove experience. With Festival Republic now being the main owner and driving force behind the festival, he believes Hove has the potential to become one of the leading musical events in Northern Europe:

We are very fond of the whole attitude behind the Hove Festival, in particular its environmental concerns and it’s booking profile. The surroundings are spectacular and gave us the right feeling straight away, he says.

Festival Republic regards Hove as a long term investment, and we are aware of its unique status among Norwegian and even European festivals in general. We want this festival to be something more than just your ordinary music festival, says Benn.

Hove prides itself in being the first carbon neutral festival in Scandinavia, and takes its environmental responsibilities very seriously. Surrounded by deep forest and sea, the festival is a grand nature experience in itself, and an excellent opportunity for camping and leisure activities as well as taking in music, poetry, films, art and food.

Former headliners at Hove include, among others, Jay Z, Beck, Amy Winehouse, The Killers, Arcade Fire, Kaiser Chiefs, Queens of The Stone Age, Slayer, The Raconteurs, and My Chemical Romance, but an important task for the festival has also been to introduce smaller, less known acts to a wider audience.

This years festival will take place between the 22nd and 25th of June.
