Raising money for Martin House Children's Hospice

Among the charities supported by Festival Republic one is very close to our hearts. The Martin House Children’s Hospice based near Wetherby, Leeds.

So we’re of course thrilled that some of the artists on the bill for this year’s Reading & Leeds Festival have donated items for a charity auction on their behalf.

With bands including headliners The Cure, Foo Fighters and Kasabian along with the likes of Florence & The Machine, The Cribs, Kaiser Chiefs, Paramore, Two Door Cinema Club, Enter Shikari, You Me At Six all confirming they’ll include signed items such as set lists, clothes and instruments which will be displayed at a respected Leeds venue post-festival and then auctioned via the charities  official site on eBay. You can also bid on a framed NME cover of your choice from the last decade of the magazine!

Some items will be placed into a raffle draw so everyone has a chance to win.

"We salute the people of Martin House and contributing something to help them raise some funds is of course something we didn’t hesitate. We commend them on all their great work and dedication over the years, make sure you bid for a bit of Reading and Leeds history..." – Kasabian

Martin House also put in hours of work and dedication to the Centre Stage talent competition which gives new bands a chance to win a slot on the BBC Introducing Stage to play at both Reading and Leeds Festivals. The final of which takes place on Tuesday 17th July at the O2 Academy in Leeds.

''Martin House are celebrating 25 years of care and we sincerely appreciate all the support from bands and music fans who attend Reading and Leeds Festival as well as Melvin Benn and his team, we cant thank them enough and we hope the true music fans all win their bids in the auction!"
